Structure of the Alienware Area51 Threadripper

Structure

Although the design of this gaming PC has not undergone significant transformations since the last update in 2015, however, this PC is still a source of dazzlement for the eye. One thing is for certain; you will need to clear up A LOT of space to accommodate the 62-pound beast.

The highlight of this gaming system is its unique shape. Instead of the typical rectangular form of any other PC, the Alienware area51 Threadripper stands (literally on its sides) distinguished in its weirdly hexagonal body that comprises three long and three short sides.

Constructed with a metal frame that is cloaked in plastic panels, this gaming PC takes aesthetics to a whole new level with its classic combination of silver and black. The back and front panels show off a sleek black color, whereas the domed sides of the PC reflect silver on their panels.

There is no kidding that the phenomenal Alienware area51 Threadripper looks as cool as it actually is!

What Features of The Alienware Area51 Threadripper Make it So Popular?

The Alienware gaming PC is equipped with everything that is a gamer’s dream and more. Throw whatever you have at it (not literally), and it will sit in all its grandeur to offer you top-quality features only. Here is a peek into what you are in for as an Alienware area51 Threadripper owner.

Ease of Upgrade

Ease of Upgrade

The one thing that we all desperately require in any gadget that we use is good and easy upgrades. Remaining at the top of all new trends and having access to the ever-new features through constant updates has become almost a dire need.

The Alienware area51 Threadripper understands the importance of new and cool upgrades and makes users’ lives easier by making upgrades an extremely convenient affair! So, in order to upgrade the new area 51 edition, you will need absolutely no tools! No cap.

The unusual design of this epic gaming PC is not only for aesthetics. The different physical features each have a role to play.

For instance, if users wish to upgrade or change the graphics card, there is no need to take the entire PC to a shop or take out the toolkit. All one has to do is pull the lock situated on the expansion slots, manipulate some thumbscrews, and viola! Your work is done.

Similarly, the storage slots and the memory plug and water cooling brackets can also be tinkled with using the thumbscrews fixed on them only. However, the one place where you will need to pull out the screwdriver is when you have to change the power supply.

Epic Design

Epic Design

As previously mentioned, the exciting area51 PC is designed the way it is not only for looks. This ginormous gaming system is extremely clever.

All the components inside the Alienware area51 Threadripper are angled at 45 degrees. This is generously done in order to increase the airflow within the system. Hence, the system can efficiently direct air towards the liquid cooler of the CPU and also push it to the GPU blower fan.

What makes this design extremely smart is that it allows the system to be placed anywhere. Normally you would avoid placing it on the ground, especially a carpeted floor. However, since all the fans and power supply is located at the bottom of the system, you can stop fretting over ground clearance.

In addition, the interior cavity of the area51 PC has unthinkable space to account for all upgrade options. For example, there is room for three upgrade graphics cards, extra slots for PCIe x16 slot and PCIe x4 for future expansions, as well 32GB RAM for all four DIMM slots.

Performance Scores

Performance Scores

The amazing outlook and features of this gaming system are not there for show. This PC is deemed as the most powerful gaming computer and it lives up to that title.

With four times the quantity of cores, the latest version of quad-core, and 7th generation intel processors, this gaming system sets new records for a grand performance. Not to mention the unparalleled benchmark scores and the epic in-game counts of the frame rates.

One thing that users should be aware of when it comes to the performance of this system is that it functions on two different processor modes; creative and game mode. The latter rarely results in an increase in performance, shutting off almost half of the system’s cores.

Apart from that, the users of Alienware area51 Threadripper seem highly satisfied with its performance. It remarkably caters to all the requirements of editing (be it pictures or videos) as well as gaming.

The machine is designed with tilted components to increase system ventilation. This allows air to be directed more efficiently to the GPU blower fan as well as the liquid cooler. The system can also accommodate up to three GPUs.

The Alienware Area-51 Threadripper is among the most powerful gaming PCs available today. With 6-cores and 12-threads, it can handle a wide range of CPU-intensive tasks, such as video editing. The AMD Ryzen area51 Threadripper 1950X processor powers this gaming PC.

The Alienware Area-51 Threadripper comes with a liquid cooling technology designed by Dell and Alienware. This technology is comparable to that used in conventional closed-loop PCU coolers. According to Alienware, the device has a lifespan of 50,000 hours or 5.7 years.

Pros and Cons of the Area51 PC

No longer available For Online Purchase

The Alienware Area 51 Threadripper Edition might be the one for you if you’re looking for a high-end gaming PC. This device has a spectacular design and specs and is the perfect machine to show off AMD’s latest high-core-count Ryzen processors. However, it is not cheap, as the standard Area 51 was priced at PS5,299.

The Area-51 Threadripper Edition was available for sale for pre-order on July 27. The price and shipment dates are not yet known. AMD has not specified a particular launch date for Threadripper; however, the company has announced that the chip will be available in the third quarter of 2017. Pre-orders for AMD’s Area-51 models featuring Core i9 processors were available, but the firm did not specify when the Threadripper CPUs would be available to users.

The Alienware Area 51 Threadripper, like the predecessor Area51 Threadripper, is powered by an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X processor. This 180-watt processor is equipped with 16 physical cores plus 32 threads. It operates at 3.4GHz, and it can be overclocked to 4GHz. Its performance is significantly comparable to that of the Intel Core i9-7960X.

The Area-51, like the original Area-51, does not have a lot of software installed. It did come with some Alienware-branded apps, but they’re not particularly useful. There is an Alienware Audio and Command Center application and Alienware Diagnostics, which lets you set bandwidth priorities and network performance. The Area-51 also incorporates an Nvidia GeForce Experience, which aids in providing the most pleasing gaming experience possible.

The Area 51 Threadripper is not available for purchase online, but it will be available at the company’s E3 event. The base model was priced at $2,999, while the top-of-the-line model costs $4,399. If you’re looking for a low-cost computer, the Area 51 Threadripper could be your solution.

Why Buy the Alienware Area51 Threadripper Edition?

Most certainly, we would not. The Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition had all the potential to become a prominent name and a stunning idea, but look past its robust metal exterior, and there’s little to recommend.

The inside is horrible and provides poor adaptability compared to the standard system, although it is stronger in specific scenarios. It’s larger and heavier than competitors, but there isn’t much to show.

It’s also poor in terms of execution. The Threadripper processor and sets of GTX 1080 Ti cards deliver terrifying power: this computer can handle any business application or game. Despite this, machines from more modest, astute manufacturers will provide superior execution due to intelligent overclocking, improved motherboards, and faster memory and capacity.

There’s also the question of whether anyone possesses this level of execution fully. Most gamers will be satisfied with a single GTX 1080 Ti – and if you require two GPUs, alternative processors will outperform the 1950X.

If you’re looking for a desktop workstation, machines with more common Intel or AMD CPUs will most likely be equally as well-served – if not considerably more remarkable. If you go that route, you’ll most likely save money and receive a more versatile and practical system for an office environment. Furthermore, if you genuinely require Threadripper, more capable and suitable frameworks could be found elsewhere.
